ARE YOU A CASTING AGENT?
The short answer is no. I am a Location Casting Director. I hire extras and actors to work in film and television. Talent Agents represent people who are looking for work. They have a pool of talent that they try to place in front of Location Casting Directors, such as myself. When their talent is hired, they receive a percentage of the monies earned by the clients they represent.
WHEN DO I SIGN UP FOR ONE OF YOUR CLASSES?
You can sign up as soon as a class posts on cherrixcasting.com. But remember, space is limited for each session!
WHAT FILMS OR TELEVISION SERIES ARE YOU CASTING RIGHT NOW?
While I like to keep everyone "in the loop" that information changes all of the time. Keep an eye on your inbox. If I'm looking for actors (kids or adults) and extras, you'll be the first to know!
DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN CASTING CHILDREN?
Yes! I developed a system for finding talented kids in under-served markets (those outside of Los Angeles and New York) and take great pride in putting their talent on screen.
DO YOU WORK WITH ADULT ACTORS AS WELL AS CHILDREN?
Absolutely. I work with actors of all ages. My resume includes the casting of many fine adult actors from around the country.
DO I NEED AN AGENT TO LAND A ROLE FOR MYSELF OR MY CHILDREN?
This question always raises eyebrows! It's a bit of a catch-22. But I believe with a little ingenuity and a lot of patience and determination, you can represent yourself while you're building a solid resume.
HOW DO I GET A SPEAKING ROLE IN FEATURE FILMS, TELEVISION OR COMMERCIALS?
This question has many answers. Networking, audition techniques and finding opportunities, are all topics I discuss in greater detail, in my classes. |
